Dr. Lagerwerff and the Animal Doctors clinic are without compare. We drive from Fremont to their office in Palo Alto because we wouldn't consider taking our pets anywhere else! Dr. Lagerwerff has always treated each and every animal we've brought to him with the greatest care, concern, and love--giving us the feeling that our furry children are all part of his big extended family. From the moment we walk in the door we and our pets are at home at the Animal Doctors. And, whether we are bringing a pet in for major surgery or just a little check up—the entire team is welcoming, professional, efficient, and oh so friendly. Our dogs actually LIKE going to the vet because they remember the great time they had there. They can't wait to bound out of the car and into the office to see all their friends. I have been a client of The Animal Doctors for over 10 years. One of my first memories of Dr. Lagerwerff was in 2000, when I brought my female puppy in to be spayed. I was nervous for her and a little emotional at the time, being a few months pregnant with my first child. When I dropped of my baby girl puppy for her surgery, Dr. Lagerwerff was able to sense my nervousness right away. He said to me, "Don't worry Mom; it'll be ok," and he gave me a hug.
Through thick and thin, Dr. Lagerwerff and his wonderful staff at The Animal Doctors have always exuded this level of warmth and dedication to my family members, canine and human. They have consistently delivered top notch care, support, and love to all my furry children. They've been there for us all, medically and emotionally, through good times and hard, and have given 110% to my animals. Every little concern is addressed with thorough due diligence. Especially in the golden years of my pets, Dr Lagerwerff and his staff have really proven their worth. The doctor has spent hours upon hours on the phone with me, explaining options and treatments and possible outcomes for my pets. The staff or the doctor calls to check up after visits. They return your calls in a timely manner. They squeeze you in for an office visit for urgent matters without hesitation. When needed, they consult a vast array of other professionals and seek their opinions to provide the best treatment possible for your pet. My family feels incredibly fortunate to have found The Animal Doctors and have such an excellent team on our side. Dr Lagerwerff's bedside manner catapults him into a league all his own and your pets reap the benefits of his TLC every time.

I am pleased to write and tell you my experiences with The Animal Doctors, Dr. Lagerwerff and his staff!!!
We started going to the Animal Doctors in 2001, when they were in Menlo Park, just around the corner from us. When the office moved to Palo Alto I followed and would only do that for the care and attention that my pets , and family received from Dr. L and his staff!!!! Over the years I have brought my three goldens and a puppy from the humane society for their medical care. Sadly, the puppy almost immediately began to manifest symptoms of a blood disease. Through the course of her illness Dr. Lagerwerff and his staff were our cornerstone, answering every question, referring us to specialists when necessary and ultimately helping us determine when it was time to let go...all in a caring and sensitive way...it was a tough time for all!
Everyone in this office has always been unfailingly kind and knowledgeable. The office is well run, very efficient, and SO helpful and thoughtful in times of sadness!!! We love the Animal Doctors and would highly recommend them to anyone!!!

With lots of choices in our area, we continue to rely on The Animal Doctors for dependable, thorough veterinary medicine, always with a foundation of warmth and caring for our animals. T.A.D., both the doctors and the staff, also stand out in communication with us so that we always leave with a good understanding of each situation that has come up and what choices there might be for care. Over the years we've been through sickness and health with 8 dogs. Aging and sickness are never easy, but T.A.D. has supported us well in our efforts to do the very best we can for each dog, including referrals when needed.
