I'm Diederik J. Lagerwerff, principal owner of The Animal Doctors clinic, and a veterinarian for over 40 years.
My special areas of professional interest include animal diagnostics, geriatric medicine, wellness, and behavior. Through the years I have cared for many, many wonderful animals, both my own and those of my clients. I understand and share your concern and affection for our animal friends.
In addition to many years of work in the Bay Area, my background also includes running free veterinary clinics for five years in rural Cabo San Lucas, where I vaccinated, spayed and neutered animals at no charge, as well as overseeing an animal awareness educational program. I have volunteered with Wildlife Rescue and was proud to receive the 1984 "Humanitarian" of the Year award from the Peninsula Humane Society.

Hello! My name is Amber. I joined Animal Doctors in 2010. Born in Minneapolis, raised in Arizona, I've always had a passion for animals and the ability to adapt to a variety of climates! I started my veterinary receptionist career in 2001 and fell in love with it! I truly enjoy pet people, I think there is no better way to start the day than a cold wet nose nudging us to get up and get going. I honor all of our pets and their owners to the fullest, and am proud to be a part of such a wonderful team and clientele. I have 3 amazing dogs, Athen the Great Dane, Whiskey the Coonhound, and Kheali the Miniature Pinscher. They bring so much joy to my life, along with my wonderful husband Ray. I'm a photographer and a hair stylist, so in my spare time I enjoy creating art, traveling and spending time with my family. I'm also a HUG hockey fan so... GO SHARKS!

I was born and raised in Kaneohe-Kailua Hawaii. I attended University of Hawaii but moved one semester short of finished with my degree in Zoology. I started in the Veterinary Industry when I was in the 7th grade volunteering at Haiku Veterinary Clinic, I also volunteered in the Hawaiian Humane Society Veterinary Clinic from 1999-2006. I would later work for HVC as a veterinary assistant from 2001-2004 but left for a year to get training as an emergency veterinary tech. I returned to HVC in 2005 and worked there until my move to California in July 2011 when I started working for The Animal Doctors.
While in Hawaii I was also involved with Access Surf an organization that provides adaptive surfing and swim programs for physically and mentally disabled people. As a Zoology student I have an appreciation for all animals, but a real love for dogs and cats and a passion for Dobermans. I organized Oahu Doberman meet-up which still holds weekly Doberman play groups and was involved in Doberman rescue. Since moving to California I have started the SF Bay Area Doberman Play and Hiking Group.

Hello! My name is Jollene Watson. I have been working with The Animal Doctors since July 2009 as a Veterinary Assistant, although my animal nursing experience goes beyond working at The Animal Doctors. I have been working as a Veterinary Assistant for about 9 years now, starting off as a kennel assistant and quickly being promoted to Veterinary Assistant. I absolutely love what I do and have become very passionate about it that’s why I have decided to go back to school and become an RVT. I have been accepted into the Foothill College Veterinary Technology Program beginning in September 2011 and look forward to being an RVT in the next 2 years. Besides working as a Veterinary Assistant and being a fulltime student, I enjoy camping, boating, swimming, hiking with my husband and our boxer Ali, who is my world J I also love our newest hobby of taking long rides on our motorcycle.
